More players at Mamelodi Sundowns are being deemed surplus to requirements as the technical team continues to trim the squad to a manageable size.
The Siya crew understands that defender Wayne Arendse has been asked to go out on loan for the 2020/21 season, with Swallows FC – yet again, the team being offered the player to potentially add to their long list of recruits.
Having secured promotion to the top flight last month, the Dube Birds have gone toe to toe with Sundowns in terms of the number of players they have signed.
As things stand, Swallows have confirmed 14 signings, including Sammy Seabi from Sundowns, and are understood to be looking to add more!
Downs have confirmed 13 new players so far.
The Siya crew reported that Anele Ngcongca has also been offered to Swallows, while Anthony Laffor and Tiyani Mabunda have also been linked with possible moves there.
Siya sources have, however, indicated that Arendse prefers to remain a key member of the squad at Chloorkop, even if he is not guaranteed game time.
The 35-year-old has spent the last eight years at Sundowns and is no doubt among a few of the long-serving and experienced players there.
It’s thought he is keen to impart his expertise on the younger members of the team and share his wealth of knowledge, while still looking to add to the club’s trophy cabinet, which includes multiple championship titles, several domestic cups and the CAF Champions League trophy.
Since arriving there in July 2012, Arendse has won five league titles.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor developments at Chloorkop with the transfer window only slamming shut at the end of November.
