Bloemfontein Celtic are open to selling one of their midfielders to DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, the Siya crew has been informed.
The Siya crew understands that Celtic have been in talks over the possibility of selling midfielder Neo Maema and left back Sifiso Ngobeni. As recently reported by the crew, Ngobeni has been earmarked for a move to Sundowns, with the player set to sign a five-year deal with the 11-time PSL champions.
Maema is another player who Celtic look set to be sold to Sundowns, as Phunya Sele Sele look to cash in on some of the players they have. Celtic's financial problems have been well documented and selling these players will ease some of the pressure they have on their shoulders when it comes to money.
According to information received by Siya sources, Celtic are under tremendous pressure to pay money they owe to former goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb. The club was ordered to pay the goalkeeper R3 million by football governing body, FIFA after they lost a case of unfair dismissal.
The club had made a proposal to pay the amount in installments, but that was rejected by Tignyemb and his legal representative.
The 25-year-old Maema made 18 appearances in all competitions during the past season for Celtic, scoring three goals and adding three assists to his contribution.
