Andile Jali is one of two players who are at risk of missing the Absa Premiership restart against his former team, Orlando Pirates next week.
Mamelodi Sundowns have their sights set on Pirates as they look to close the gap on log leaders Kaizer Chiefs, who are four points clear of the reigning champions.
But first, they have a tricky Nedbank Cup semi-final fixture against Bidvest Wits this weekend, in search of a spot in the final.
Pitso Mosimane has lamented his side's injury woes and will be without the likes of Mauricio Affonso, Thapelo Morena, and Gaston Sirino for the clash.
The two players - Andile Jali and Wayne Arendse, both go into the encounter on three yellow cards, which means that should they pick up their fourth on Saturday, they will miss the clash against Pirates next week.
Jali in particular was one of the standout performers for Mosimane’s side before the break, having experienced a resurgence of some sort.
Despite finding himself in hot water with the club over a reported drinking spree, Jali will be keen to face his former employers in a crunch league encounter next week, though it remains to be seen whether Mosimane will run the risk of possibly being without Jali when they face the Buccaneers.
Mosimane has an abundance of options in central midfield, namely Hlompho Kekana, Tiyani Mabunda and Sammy Seabi, while in attacking options he could deploy the deadly duo of Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi.
