UL Forced To Make Changes
Embattled UL have made four forced changes to their squad travelling to Port Elizabeth, where they face NMMU-Madibaz on Monday night.
The struggling students from Limpopo have found life difficult in Varsity Football this season. They currently find themselves languishing second from bottom of the Varsity Football standings with just two points from five matches.
Looking ahead, UL have the tough task of firstly overcoming the Madibaz and then giant-killers UJ, who have been in phenomenal form in their debut season.
Coach, Burney Mampshika, wants to finish the season on high note by winning their remaining fixtures even though a semi-final berth is no longer on the cards for UL.
However, reaching that goal has now been made harder with four experienced players missing Monday’s clash due to academic commitments.
Captain Pholoshi Bapela makes a welcome return from suspension and he will be brought in to strengthen the defensive line. Mampshika has brought in two youngsters who will be making their Varsity Football debuts.
The optimistic coach says the players have been working hard on their finishing this week after they outplayed UWC but failed to score the goals in their most recent fixture.
The coach says his team will be ready for the Madibaz and warned the Madibaz to expect a tough encounter on Monday night.
