Limpopo Look To Upset UJ
Varsity Football strugglers UL are aiming to exit the competition with a bang on Monday, when they visit top side UJ for their final match this season.
University of Limpopo know they have no chance of making the knockout stage, but are keen to go out in a blaze of glory.
The UL squad facing UJ will be boosted by five crucial players who missed out their previous Varsity Football clash due to academic commitments.
Back in are Kgotlelelo Kgoete, Samuel Mathabathe, Thabiso Mamaila, Themba Chauke and Harold Ndhlovu, who all wrote examinations earlier this week.
Coach Burney Mampshika also hopes Ivan Tleane will be fit to play after the defender picked up a knock against NMMU-Madibaz.
Mampshika says he will be opting for a 4-5-1 formation against their rampant opponents, who are top of the standings and still unbeaten in their first season of Varsity Football.
“I will use two attacking midfielders and make sure there are always three attackers in the box when we move into their half. Our forwards have been working on their finishing and I know we will create chances,” he said.
Mampshika says the players have prepared well and are ready to give their all as they know it will be a tough encounter in Johannesburg.
