Lerato Manzini, a one-time fan favourite at Bloemfontein Celtic, has left the club to join SuperSport United, albeit on loan.
The young striker had been growing frustrated due to a lack of game time. He is an extremely talented marksman with an eye for goal, but obviously having unhappy players in your camp can be detrimental to the team’s cause. There was apparently a breakdown in relations between the player and no-nonsense coach Ernst Middendorp, which of course could not have helped matters and ensured he gets little game time.
At SuperSport he gets a chance to start afresh and show what he is capable of. The team is going to miss him for sure, because he scored important goals when he was available to play and got a chance, but I reckon we have enough ammunition upfront going into the new season.
What do you make of Manzini's move away from Celtic?
