Sundowns have already signed so many players that I have seen supporters on the club’s official website plead for them to stop recruiting – which is not something that fans will usually do.
But every week there are more players being linked with the Brazilians, and in many cases the Pretoria club has actually shown some interest.
The problem is, that many quality players are either polishing the bench or on loan at other clubs – but why don’t Downs cash in on their assets.
Instead of them enjoying free tickets and hospitality at game while earning a salary for training, why not start a competitive second team? Barcelona have Barca B competing in professional leagues, so why not give fringe recruits the change to compete.
If Downs register another team, they could eventually have two PSL teams – making double the amount of money, and at least accommodate the foreign players that are signed and sometimes left in limbo.
Do you think this is a feasible option, or should they rather just reconsider the transfer policy, clear out deadwood and stop chasing players for the sake of collecting them?
