If Orlando Pirates was the Skull, then Oupa Manyisa would be the cross-bones beneath. Besides our stalwart captain Lucky Lekgwathi, no one else in the Bucs wears black and white of the Buccaneers with as much pride as Ace.
It’s as if the Pirates jersey was tailored for him, understandably so, since Oupa has spent his entire senior career playing for Pirates. So then how can he possibly play for another club?
Manyisa personifies the Bucs philosophy. That’s why his football comes across as effortless, because he does what he has been taught since his youth. That is, he does not just play football, but he plays football for Orlando Pirates.
So Sundowns, and whoever else want Oupa, should in principle leave this player to continue flourishing at the one place where is meant to be, the place where he fits in...the place where his identity is!
Once a Pirate, always a Pirate!
