Nkosi’s Relevance

Chiefs midfielder, Siyabonga Nkosi, should be careful to guard against becoming one of those players whose relevance in the team becomes questionable.

But I suppose for him, finishing his career at Amakhosi is a blessing, as opposed to many other players in his position who have to see out the twilight of their careers playing for smaller clubs.

In 2013/14, Nkosi only made about 10 appearances for Chiefs (though it has to be mentioned he netted three goals).

My concern is that Nkosi is essentially becoming a glorified bench warmer, and unjustly so, because he is a player of exceptional talent.

Perhaps the 33-year-old should consider a move to a club where he can play regular football, but as I mentioned, there aren't many players who get to retire at a big club earning a decent salary!
