Themba Zwane’s impressive season on loan at Black Aces has proven that he is worthy to don the Sundowns shirt once again next season.
Arguably our best loaned-out player, in fact, exclusive Soccer Laduma stats show that last season he performed better than Bongani Zungu in every department besides final third entries. He scored four goals to Zungu’s one. He averaged 71% in successful forward passes, showing that he likes playing toward the goal. Zwane received the ball (50.8) more times than Zungu (35.23), which demonstrates that he enjoys having the ball at his feet and that his teammates rely on him. Zwane also averaged more passes per game (48.1), while Zungu managed only 31 passes.
Zwane’s ball playing ability and attack-mindedness make him perfectly suitable for the No.10 role at Sundowns. We need players of Zwane’s quality if we are to defend the league and compete in Africa.
