We had all heard the hype about Rivaldo Coetzee when he started to burst through the scenes from the youth set-up to the first team and, I have to admit, I was left excited. So far, he hasn’t proved me wrong.
“That kid is just 17-years-old. He continues to improve with every game. Despite his age, he is showing match intelligence beyond his years,”said Roger de Sa when he was launched onto the scene.
And I fail to believe that it was by chance, that the minute Coetzee stepped into our starting line-up against Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City, we came out victorious.
Against Sundowns, on top of keeping a clean sheet, the teenager completed 42 passes from his 55 passes to rake in a 76.36% completion rate.
On top of that, he also won two of his three duels on the field- quite impressive I might add.
