Those words have never echoed as loudly as when clubs like Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, as well as a few others, have had to endure finishing the league without their X-factors.
An unappreciative attitude had crept in with all of us - if we are honest we will admit that. There was a stage when we began doubting Andile Jali’s ability (can you imagine) and look how the Bucs midfield capitulated without his presence.
And what about Kaizer Chiefs... Even though he hadn't left the club (well not at that stage anyway), Knowledge Musona left a gaping hole in the Chiefs strike force when he was injured towards the end of the season.
I can only imagine the likes of Platinum Stars are going to experience the same sense of loss now that Issa Saar has gone to Orlando Pirates.
Perhaps it’s time as football supporters to begin appreciating our teams and players a little more.
