Last night, in our opening encounter of this season’s Premier League, Cesc Fabregas produced an incredible performance. He grabbed two assists and was named Man of the Match.
His assist for André Schürrle’s goal, in particular, was absolutely sublime. Throughout the game, he played incredibly well. His passes were silky smooth and accurate. His tempo-defining movement, alongside Nemanja Matic, displayed intelligence, and ultimately, he was the heartbeat of our team. Beyond this, he won possession well with several fine tackles in the middle of the pitch and all in all, put on a complete performance.
I now understand why Arsenal fans are so upset that Cesc joined us instead of them. He may turn out to be the best midfielder in the Premier League and I can’t wait to see him prove it over the next season.
