In yesterday’s opening match against Newcastle, Sergio Aguero started on the bench due to doubts over his fitness. However, he did manage to make his way onto the field late in the game, where we were struggling to extend our lead against the Geordie club.
In typical style, Aguero was prolific and managed to get his name on the score sheet to score his first goal of the season in this year's edition of the Premier League.
Even though doubts had been cast over his fitness, Aguero showed that he still boasts the incredible attacking quality that has warmed the hearts of us City fans ever since he arrived at the club.
Since last season, Aguero has boasted a scoring average that has seen him score one goal every 85 minutes spent on the pitch.
There is only one player in the world that can boast a consistent scoring rate like that… his name is Cristiano Ronaldo. And, I’m hoping that Aguero can have a similar effect on our club that Ronaldo has had at his.
Perhaps Aguero can produce dominant performances in the same way Ronaldo has, not only in the Premier League, but also in Europe this season.
So, it should become a priority for our club to keep Aguero in peak physical condition and to continue in the same rich vein of form that he has exhibited in recent times.
If we can do so, Aguero will undoubtedly prove to be amongst the very best players in the world and could take us to the top of European football.
