As reported by Soccer Laduma, SAFA are upset with the PSL for forming the Multichoice U19 league that is meant to commence next month.
SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan said: "We have written to them and we will be meeting them this week to solve that. Development should only fall under one organisation and that's what we want to clear off in that meeting.”
They say that all development and amateur leagues are meant to fall under the umbrella of the football motherbody and what the PSL has done is a violation of that mandate.
I find this slightly ridiculous, I have to admit. Our biggest flaw in South African football is development, and so far SAFA have done very little to help improve the state of it that over the years.
I really can’t see any flaws in this initiative. It is a positive for our country and, quite frankly, South African football needs all the help it can get when it comes to development.
