Tomorrow evening, Real Madrid will face Italian club, Fiorentina, in our final preseason match before the season gets underway.
With the Spanish Supercup against last season’s La Liga champions, Atletico, coming up on Tuesday evening, Carlo Ancelotti will be expected to field a weakened line-up to keep his best players fresh.
Even though I’m sure he’ll be itching to get more game time under his belt, I doubt Cristiano Ronaldo will be risked, but I’m sure that James Rodriguez will start so that he can return to match fitness after a relatively quiet game against Sevilla in the UEFA Supercup.
Gareth Bale will be hoping to continue his rich vein of form, and, given his exquisite fitness right now, will probably be given a starting role.
In another change to the team, we can expect that new signing, Keylor Navas, will start in goal in an attempt to show his quality and raise his stock in Carlo Ancelotti’s eyes for the starting goalkeeper role in the match against Atletico and for the upcoming La Liga season.
I expect that the starting line up will look something like this: (4-2-3-1) Navas – Marcelo, Ramos (c), Varane, Arbeloa – Kroos, Khedira – James, Isco, Bale – Benzema
The game will start at 20h35 tomorrow evening.
