It seems Mamelodi Sundowns have resigned themselves to losing the services of Rashid Sumaila, who has attracted interest from European clubs.
According to the club's technical director, Trott Moloto, who was speaking on a radio station yesterday, the Brazilians management are locked in negotiations with an unnamed European club and the deal looks likely to be concluded soon.
Sumaila is yet to be registered for the season and, as such, has not tasted any action, fuelling rumours that he is on hiw way out.
The Ghanaian international came as a bit of an unknown to these shores last season and fitted in like a hand in glove. We'd have loved to see him stay, but if he is keen on playing abroad, then so be it.
Hopefully Sundowns will sell him for a price befitting a player of his calibre, as he did not come cheap when he was signed from Asante Kotoko.
Are Sundowns right to let Sumaila go?
