In Clint Roper’s weekly column on Soccer Laduma, the issue over ticket prices and the lack of fans going to the stadium was discussed.
Clint has questioned why we can’t fill a stadium even when our league’s respective champions are in town. And I have to agree.
It is very rare, and I repeat, very rare, that our local ticket prices escalate higher than R80 per ticket, and that I might add is not very expensive.
Still, on average, the prices linger at about R40 each and that seems affordable for the normal fan entering in the stadium.
But even at that low fee, and there are no fans coming in to sell out the stadium, should we not lower the price some more?
Maybe the clubs need to offer more than just entrance into a game to help entice the fans.
What do you suggest?
