It appears as though the fairy-tale story that Jabu Mahlangu got a taste of during the course of last season when he made an unexpected return to professional football at 33 will not happen for the ‘Little Napoleon,' Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi.
In recent weeks, Vilakazi made a heartfelt plea to his former side, Orlando Pirates, to give him one last shot at donning the black and white jersey before he would consider hanging up his boots.
Unfortunately for the little guy who was last on the books of Botswana-based clubs, Notwane FC and Botswana Meat Commission, Pirates have chosen to snub Tso. Shame.
Sad if you consider that Vilakazi enjoyed all his career highs when he played for the Buccaneers. Thinking back to his return to South Africa, instead of going back to Pirates, Tso chose Mamelodi Sundowns. A decision that ultimately cost him his fairy tale ending.
