By the end of last night’s match against Black Aces, Stuart Baxter had done the unthinkable.
By the close of play, we had six, yes six, defenders on the pitch. Mashamaite, Masilela, Mathoho, Gaxa, Gould and Moleko were all on the pitch at the same time.
Now, I’m sure Baxter was just trying to keep the score line at 2-1 rather than concede a late goal and drop points, but we were playing against Black Aces. The same Black Aces team that we gave a 4-0 hiding in the MTN8.
By all accounts, we are the superior team and, as fans, we demand attacking, attractive football. This park-the-bus tactic is not what we want to see. Up until the very last minute of play, I want to see us trying to extend our lead and players must be motivated to entertain, especially when we are playing against inferior opposition.
I don’t want to see this again, Baxter!
