It looks like Oupa Manyisa will have to pay the R29 million asking price put on his football intelligent head himself by accepting that his dream of playing in Europe has gone up in smoke because realistically there isn’t a club that would be willing to fork out that money for a 26-year old player without that much international experience... no matter how good he is.
At the risk of sounding like a football pessimist (one which I’m willing to take for the sake of the truth) no club, either in Belgium, the Netherlands or even Russia will pay that sort of money when they can purchase two players from other African leagues who may not be as gifted as Ace but work just hard if not harder.
And suppose the Buccaneers and Ace decide to part for whatever reasons... does this mean that another PSL club will also have to fork out just under R30 million for Oupa? This price has really put Manyisa is somewhat of a predicament and it’s no wonder why he is not willing to sign a new contract... if Pirates are not careful Oupa could do what Eto did at Barcelona and not sign a contract to leave the club at the end of his contract term as a free agent.
Then Pirates greed would have cost them!
