After Orlando Pirates’ near triumph in the African Champions League, they now face the tough task of playing catch up. They find themselves dangling mid table with a few games in hand.
Andile Jali recently made his move from Pirates to KV Oostende in Belgium. This has saddened a number of fans, and hopefully the transfer won’t dent the squads’ hopes of finishing higher up in the league.
Roger De Sa came under much scrutiny from the fans, and has since resigned as head coach, putting the team under even more pressure this season.
However, if they were to win all their games in hand, they would be within striking distance of the title. They have dropped a couple of points along the way, most recently in their draw against AmaZulu. However.
The question now is, will Orlando Pirates catch up and finish in a good position, or will they falter because of a heavy work load, coaching change and loss of a key player?
