Mpho Makola told Lunga Adam in this week's Soccer Laduma that he knew he had to seize his opportunity to make it into the Orlando Pirates starting lineup.
Though he only made a few appearances in the first half of the season, Makola impressed, and with a new coach, he was able to become a Bucs regular toward the end of the season.
At a time when the PSL is getting a bit boring with the same players starting every match, players like Makola are proving that new boys can burst onto the scene.
As long as there are coaches willing to give them a shot, I think more and more promising players can make the move from the bench to the pitch and shake things up a bit.
Best luck, Mpho, my brother! May many other players follow in your footsteps!
Do you agree that we need more new players seizing opportunities?
