Earlier in the transfer window, we sold our star player, Luis Suarez, to Barcelona for a sum of money round about £80 million. Now, it’s all well and good that we have been financially compensated for the loss of Suarez, but the principle of the matter is that we cannot buy goals in the Premier League or anywhere else for that matter.
So now, I would like to discuss who we can expect to fill the giant hole in our team that was where Luis Suarez used to be?
Rickie Lambert was brought in earlier in the window and will likely be able to replicate the performances that he put on at Southampton last season. But I believe Lambert is not as fast or agile enough to work the kind of magic that Suarez has in the past.
Daniel Sturridge has already shown that he’s capable of scoring goals and it was his combination with Suarez that was so successful last season. But, Sturridge can’t take on both roles…
So, I believe it will be Raheem Sterling who will be stepping up to combine with Daniel Sturridge and I believe he has more than enough potential to cover for Suarez’s role, in combination with both Sturridge and Lambert.
