Kudakwashe Mahachi came on in the 73rd minute of Mamelodi Sundowns' game against Moroka Swallows last night, and immediately showed what a quality player he is.
The Zimbabwean attacker underwent a trial at French giants AS Monaco recently, but it seems he will be staying put at the Brazilians for the foreseeable future. Well, Monaco's loss is certainly Downs' gain. He was so calm in slotting the ball into the back of the net and has shown that he will fit in like a hand in glove in Pitso Mosimane's side.
He had one short on target and it resulted in a goal! When he shoots for goal next time, we must all stand up and celebrate. Of the nine passes he made, all were successful, which goes to show he is the perfect man for the Downs' traditional Shoeshine & Piano style of play, where one-two's are the order of the day.
My guess is he will link up well with Bongani Zungu, as four of his nine passes were directed at 'Ben 10'.
Often when foreign players join big South African teams, they flatter to deceive, but Mahachi's early indications are more than just promising. He is a game-changer and a player that will dazzle in the Brazilians' shirt.
Do you agree that Mahachi will be a hit at Downs?
