AmaZulu will be hoping for the club’s new signings to make a difference in Craig Rosslee’s team in the second round of the 2013/14 season.
AmaZulu signed Ruzaigh Gamildien and Nhlanhla Shabalala from Bloemfontein Celtic and Ajax Cape Town respectively in the January transfer window.
The two players were signed to strengthen the midfield after the KZN club placed Letladi Madubanya on transfer, while Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed-Awal Issah went AWOL.
Usuthu need to produce the same kind of performances the team displayed earlier in the season when the side won games, including their famous win against Orlando Pirates in the opening game of the campaign.
Both Gamildien and Shabalala are capable players that can contribute in trying to help AmaZulu to finish in the best possible position on the Absa Premiership log at the end of the season.
Gamildien scored four goals in 16 appearances for Celtic in the league last season. The 24-year-old was rewarded with a Bafana Bafana call-up by Gordon Igesund in August last year.
Shabalala’s situation is different as he made just six league starts for Ajax last season.
Who else should they have gone for or can Usuthu climb the table with what they have?
