Free State Stars can still avoid relegation at the end of the season. The team’s 1-1 draw with fellow PSL strugglers, Polokwane City, this past weekend gave us hope on our chances of survival.
Luyolo Nomandela is showing signs of regaining his form after a disappointing start to the season. It is unfortunate that he will be leaving for Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season.
But we are used to seeing our players leave after each and every season, aren’t we? The improvement is there for everyone to see since the restructuring in the technical team.
Kinnah Phiri and his technical team are doing a good job in their attempt to save the club from relegation.
We have to continue supporting the team and give our players and coaching staff hope that they will still be in the PSL come the 2014/15 season.
We are 14th on the log and there are seven games to play. We have collected 21 points so far and Polokwane City are below us on the standings with 20 points, although they have played one game more than us.
Golden Arrows look like they will be going down automatically as things stand.
The battle is between us, Polokwane and Maritzburg United on who will be playing in the promotion/relegation playoffs with two clubs from the NFD at the end of the season.
