After sweeping to victory in the Safa U17 national tournament in Soweto last Sunday (6 April), there are smiles on the faces of the Wits faithful.
We have a bright future ahead! The amazing talent that 15-year-old Liam Jordan has was also tremendous to see. Here was a under-age kid looking as though U17 football was an absolute stroll.
It's no wonder he's already trained with Wits' first team - watch out for this kid because he's special.
In saying that it's, grand to see our youth coming through so strongly. That we mauled Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in the final had me beaming from ear-to-ear as well.
But we're not only working for the success of ourselves, no, we work for the success of the nation.
This is what Wits' Head of Academy Affairs, Glen Salmon, confirmed to the club's official website, "We are delighted for the boys who have worked so hard over the last few years, and demonstrates the effectiveness of well supported football development...the club continues to develop exceptional talent, which we hope will form the backbone of future national teams."
Big ups the Clever Boys.
