Going into tonight’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic, Mamelodi Sundowns should bank on their good record against the Mangaung side this season.
In the very first game of the campaign, Sundowns took advantage of a sloppy Phunya Sele Sele and walloped them 3-1. Then came the Telkom Knockout Last 16 game where Celtic were taught a football lesson by the yellow brigade and handed them a 4-0 drubbing. It was sweet revenge for our loss to them in the final of the same competition in December 2012. We have had the better of them on two occasions already, so why should it not happen again?
What’s good it that we beat them by big margins, which means we can attack them and exploit the spaces they leave open. The other factor to consider is that both games took place in their home ground and now they are coming to Loftus Stadium. There is no way they will come out alive... not with the current form that Sundowns are displaying.
The mood in the camp is at an all-time high and the players know there is no time for slip-ups if we are to steal the league title from under the noses of Kaizer Chiefs.
Celtic, you are welcome in Tshwane, but please know that you are entering at your own risk.
