Nhlanhla Shabalala, Ruzaigh Gamildien, John Arwuah, Tshepo Liphoko and Keamogetse Wolff have joined the club in January – but who do you think is the best, or was mostly needed?
Gamildien was a surprise signing because he had done very under Clinton Larsen at Bloem Celtic, and even broke into the Bafana Bafana setup. It is clear, though, that Ernst Middendorp didn’t like the player, but it remains to be seen if he will perform at a similar level for Usuthu.
After years of service at Ajax, Shabalala was let go so he will certainly add value to the team and is capable of doing the job when called upon.
Arwuah is one who could be a considerable addition for AmaZulu. The Ghanaian has already played in Durban, for Maritzburg, and has also gained experience at SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Liphoko is an exciting prospect for the future. The right winger, who joined from Orlando Pirates, and already boasts PSL experience after playing for Golden Arrows on loan last season.
Wolff, who struggled for game time under Gavin Hunt, comes in to help bolster the defence. This has been a bit of a problem area, having conceded 24 goals – though seven came in that disastrous game against Mameldoi Sundowns.
Who do you think will make a real difference for Usuthu and did the club fill the gaps to ensure that results will be consistent for the remainder of the season?
