Only days after essentially firing Bafana coach Gordon Igesung, SAFA president Danny Jordaan has already put pressure on whoever the next coach will be.
Jordaan told the press that he expects South Africa to qualify for the Afcon in Morocco in 2015 and in Libya in 2017, as well as the World Cup in Russia in 2018. Quite a high calling for whoever takes up the Bafana mantle.
However, Jordaan did say the future will include an entire technical team working with Bafana from the youth levels upward, to build patriotism and a national football identity. Of course, this is what we've all been waiting to hear, but even if Jordaan and SAFA follow through, is there any way the Bafana project will be ready in time for Morocco? We can only hope.
I like what you're saying, Danny. Now you must back up your words with action.
