After the morale-boosting win over Platinum Stars on the weekend, Bloemfontein Celtic face another tricky game against on-form Mamelodi Sundowns, albeit without Musa Nyatama.
The creative central midfielder is neither injured nor suspended, but Sundowns won’t allow him to play against them. It is part of the agreement that was made when he moved on loan from Pitso Mosimane’s side to Celtic at the beginning of the season. Nyatama was completely out of the reckoning at Sundowns and his career stalled, but at Celtic he has been a revelation, missing only three games (one against Sundowns, of course) so far.
That he won’t play in this game will be a big blow to the team, as he has the ability to make those around him well and can create, as well as score, goals. I know that he has to respect the agreement, but surely when a player was not even sitting on the bench for your team and you decide to loan him out to another team, why do you not want him to play against you?
That means he is not good enough for you, but you are scared he is going to hurt you. Is that not some sort of an insult to our players? I think it is time clauses like this are abolished by the league and players are given more respect.
Anyway, with or without Nyatama, we will conquer tonight, Siwelele
