Last night we turned out against the University of Pretoria, and I have to admit I was left unimpressed with their 2-1 defeat. Why did we not sign Chris Katongo or Edward Manqele?
It was a game where chances after chances came, and again we proved faulty in front of goal.
Last night we fired 11 attempts at goal, and only three of those hit the opposition’s target, leaving us with a shooting accuracy of 27%! That is crazy! How could we be so wasteful?
This also makes me angry because we were rumoured to sign both Chris Katongo and Edward Manqele before the start of the season, and neither arrived.
Katongo is a proven goalscorer despite his recent slump in form. He hasn’t scored a goal since he left Henan Jianye back in 2012, but we know when given regular game time he can find the back of the net.
Edward Manqele, back in the 2012/2013 season, was practically averaging a goal a game in his first 11 games of the season. This is quite an impressive statistic.
We need more goals!
