Kaizer Chiefs might have won the game against Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening, but that does not mean Mamelodi Sundowns should lose hope.
Admittedly, Amakhosi have been doing very well this season and should have walked away with the league title by now. But credit should be given to Sundowns for keeping the race a bit more exciting than it would have been, because there is nothing more boring than having one team winning the league with six games to go, meaning that the other teams are just playing for pride.
This shows that the Brazilians have got quality, depth, character and fighting spirit. We achieved what we have so far, despite the fact that there have been injuries to key players along the way, while some players are yet to kick a ball in anger, as they are nursing long-term injuries.
After Chiefs beat Arrows, many people are of the belief that they are home and dry, but stranger things have happened in this game. There are ONLY three points separating the two sides (and Chiefs have ONLY one game in hand) and they are facing us on Saturday. That is a must-win game. We win that one and the shoe is on the other foot – they are the ones with the pressure.
Until the Fat Lady sings, it just is never over, MaSandawana.
