Bucs Need To Improve Firepower

Our boys were forced to dig deep to bring things back on level terms after a sloppy mistake from our beloved crazy eyes Ngubo, which led to Usuthu’s penalty.

The penalty was against the run of play. Clear evidence of this is the fact that we dominated possession throughout the match and managed 18 shots at goal, while we restricted AmaZulu just four shots.

We weren’t very penetrative in the first half, however, the forceful Pirates we know and love came to show in the second half. We were let down by our finishing as we only hit the target seven times out of our 18 shots at Tapuwa Kapini’s goal.

Festival came to our rescue once again when he showed a cool head to bring us level, which will certainly give him leverage as he is set to meet with the Iron Duke over a new contract in the next week or so.

Although this result means that we are still without a win in the new season, I can’t help but feel that our boys will raise their game as soon as we finish off Wits in the MTN8 semi-final on the weekend.
