That is not the sound of gushing air made by the wings of a birds as it takes flight. Rather it was the sound of sheer reprieve coming from Moroka Swallows and everyone affiliated with the Dube Birds after the victory over Platinum Stars last night.
Felix Obada’s 10th minute strike ensured that everyone at Swallows, from the CEO to the ordinary fan on the stands, could finally get some much needed sleep after weeks of restlessness. In all honesty, flying way with 3 points was incredible as the Birds have moved from 12th spot up to 10th on the log , but essentially we are still fighting for our lives.
The result against Platinum Stars has brought much impetus into the team which was dwindlingdangerously. Could this be the much needed opportunity Swallows need to turn the corner and salvage what’s left of the season?
