Polokwane City is one of the minnows in the current PSL campaign, having won the National First Division last season, and fighting to retain their place in the PSL.
Looking at their signings this season so far, one has to wonder whether they will add enough value to help the Polokwane-based outfit stay in the elite league.
Rise and Shine came to the PSL with their inexperienced squad but they managed to scoop tried and trusted players such as captain Thapelo Tshilo who has been with Mamelodi Sundowns, Esau Kanyenda who played for Jomo Cosmos , Moffat Mdluli fom SuperSport United and Sphesihle Nzimande who played for Golden Arrows.
During the January transfer window, City lured Sandile Sibande from Wits and Sipho Jembula from Platinum Stars, as well as Thabiso Hlalele, who was previously with Jomo Cosmos, Jabu Maluleke and Rofhiwa Tshikovhi from Dikwena.
Coach Boebie Solomons always emphasised the need to sign experienced campaigners in the premiership, now the question is, will City survive the axe and still see another season in the PSL considering the players they acquired?
What’s your take?
