I would like to express my deepest distress and sorrow at the recent events that have taken place at the Birds Nest.
As a true follower and supporter of the Dube Birds, I can longer stand by silently and watch the club I have come to love and cherish become bird fodder when we are meant to be the high soaring swallows that we once were.
The Swallow is a bird of beauty and swiftness and yet this does not in anyway reflect in our players or in the manner in which we play the game. On contrary our players in key positions have become aged which should ring alarm bells as there is no continuity in the club.
The spine of the team consists of the following players; Siyabonga Nomvethe (36), Lefa Tsutsulupa (34), Giorgi Nergadze (31) and Greg Etafia (31). Now as you can see it means the average age of the core players is 32 which is really concerning as it means the continuity of the team is under grave jeopardy.
It means that unless something is drastically altered, we as the Birds supporters will endure many more seasons of having our wings clipped. This is a plea to the management of the Birds nest...We would like to see our beautiful Swallows flying high again!
