As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Siya sources in the know have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs are yet to open up talks with the camp of Willard Katsande regarding extending his stay beyond the current season.
The 34-year-old previously had his contract extended by a further season back in January, with Amakhosi revealing at the time that his deal would come to an end in 2021.
“We are pleased to announce that Willard Katsande's contract has been extended by one season, ending in June 2021,” Chiefs said at the time.
Now with just over a month left before 2021, the club is yet to confirm what the next move will be for Katsande; whether he will remain at Naturena beyond the end of the season, of if he will begin a new chapter elsewhere.
Come January next year, Katsande, like several other players in Mzansi’s top flight such as Anthony Laffor and Wayne Arendse, will be able to sign pre-contracts with any interested suitor and possibly leave their current clubs on a free.
