Kaizer Chiefs may be top of the league at present, but they are still on the lookout for players to bolster their squad to make sure they end their lengthy trophy drought…

The Glamour Boys may well have a busy window in January when it opens up again in a couple of months’ time, with decisions to be made with regards to both incomings and outgoings ahead of the second half of the campaign.
Chiefs are currently top of the Absa Premiership and into the quarterfinals of the Telkom Knockout as Ernst Middendorp led them to an impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign, but he will also be aware of the fact that injuries have not been kind to them over the past few weeks and that he may need extra hands on deck when possible.
The likes of James Kotei, Siphelele Ntshangase, Kabelo Mahlasela, Philani Zulu, Joseph Molangoane and Kgotso Moleko are all yet to play a single minute for the Glamour Boys so far in 2019/20 and may end up looking for gametime elsewhere come January, but Chiefs can’t afford to release players without bolstering elsewhere.
The Siya crew recently reported that Sifiso Mbhele of Free State Stars had made his way onto their list of potential targets, while Tshwarelo Bereng of Black Leopards is also thought to be a possible signing option for January.
Other players such as Bidvest Wits’ duo, Sifiso Hlanti and Thabang Monare, have been missed out on in the past and could be revisited, while Mwape Musonda was unable to join previously due to their foreign quota being full and his hefty price tag.
On top of that, Chiefs are also thought to have missed out on Ronwen Williams and Evans Rusike in the past year, and due to their goalkeeping situation at present they may be tempted to at least look at returning to test Matsatsantsa’s resolve regarding their number one shot-stopper.
Who do you think Chiefs should release/sign in January?
