With the quality in the team Kaizer Chiefs should beat any team, says striker Lazarous Kambole.
The Amakhosi forward was speaking ahead of the his side’s DStv Premiership clash at home against Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday night and a win could help push them closer into the Top 8 bracket, which coach Gavin Hunt has admitted is non-negotiable.
“We’ve played two difficult games and we’ve won both. Previously we were not winning, so this is a morale booster for the team and for us as players ahead of the next game,” said Kambole in reference to victories over Orlando Pirates in the league before the international break and then another one at the weekend against Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League group stage.
“Stellies will be a different ball game, but we will do our homework as Chiefs and that won’t be an easy game. We just have to give it our all to collect maximum points.”
Chiefs have struggled so far in Hunt’s maiden campaign and the coach is also under pressure and faces a possible exit.
“Looking at the calibre of this team we can beat any team with the right mentality, the right attitude and I am positive that because we are playing at home against Stellenbosch I am sure we have a great chance of winning,” Kambole told the media.
“They are a great side, especially when they play us. They double their efforts – so it’s up to us to adapt to their threats, but we have morale in the team to do well.”
