As reported by the Siya crew earlier this week, Kaizer Chiefs has concluded an internal hearing involving Dumisani Zuma – and the club has now given a verdict.
The attacker was suspended from all club activities earlier this month after the hawks confirmed he was arrested under the influence of alcohol and subsequently released on bail, which triggered the club to conduct their own investigation.
According to a statement released by Amakhosi on Thursday afternoon, the player “will be disciplined in line with the company’s disciplinary code”, although the press release did not elaborate on what those would be.
What is clear is that the Zuma will not return to action anytime soon, thereby remaining sideline for an even longer period.
“He has been suspended from club activities and will attend rehabilitation,” was all the Chiefs statement on the matter offered.
Chiefs said the hearing was presided over by an independent chairperson, but did not explain if Zuma had any representative.
It now remains to be seen whether there is more still to unfold in this matter given that Zuma, who still has a contract until June 2023, will not return to work.
