There were two new faces at Kaizer Chiefs’ headquarters in Naturena on Wednesday, the Siya crew has been informed.
Despite the club not being able to register new players because of a two-window FIFA ban Amakhosi have appealed to have overturned, goalkeeper Brandon Peterson and midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange have begun training at the Village.
The Siya crew broke the news of Chiefs’ Peterson pursuit at the weekend, with sources indicating that new coach Gavin Hunt had identified the shot stopper as captain Itumeleng Khune’s long term successor.
Hunt signed Peterson at Bidvest Wits last season and the two are now likely to reunite after the player received his clearance from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, who purchased Wits’ topflight status, and has become a free agent.
Nange also joined the Clever Boys more than a year ago from Black Leopards and is highly rated by Hunt, who now looks set to have him as part of his Amakhosi squad.
The midfielder also received his clearance from TTM given that he was not keen to relocate to his hometown of Venda, opting to further his career in Gauteng.
The duo take the list of players set to sign for Chiefs from the now-defunct Wits to three!
Amakhosi confirmed two weeks ago that Sifiso Hlanti had started “training” with the rest of the team, and Siya sources have subsequently confirmed that the left back has now been offered a three-year contract and likely to remain at the Village permanently.
