Galaxy currently have their tails up, thanks to their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership thus far. Next up for the Rockets, is a wounded Chiefs side, who are nursing the wounds of a 3-0 drubbing against Orlando Pirates.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Galaxy vice-captain Msimango has touched on the mood in the camp ahead of the match on Wednesday, as well as his side’s plan to inflict further pain on the Glamour Boys.

“The mood at the camp at the moment is a very good one. The guys are very positive, and they are looking forward to Wednesday’s game against Kaizer Chiefs.

“Of course, they played a cup game against Orlando Pirates this past weekend and they did not get a good result, that makes them a very dangerous opponent coming into Wednesday’s game. We are very much aware of that and we have prepared accordingly for that match. Our planning will come into play and we will hope to utilize our opportunities we create during the game,” Msimango said.

While fans will have fond memories of the night at the Moses Mabhida stadium, the 23-year-old maintains that history counts for nothing as they go in search of another three points.

“The team has experienced success against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final, but I think that is in the past you know, this is football and we are focusing on the present and there has been a lot of changes since then. I think the playing personnel will make the approach of the game very different. I think it is a good thing for the team to have won against Chiefs but on the day it wont matter, what will matter is the effort that the guys put in,” Msimango added.

The match is scheduled for kick off at 19:30 at the FNB stadium on Wednesday.
