A highly-rated Kaizer Chiefs winger is having sleepless nights as he cannot fathom how a big club in South Africa, the Glamour Boys, will end their eighth season without any silverware.
Keagan Dolly even admitted that he occasionally has serious thoughts about his contribution to the club, whether he is doing enough to ensure the Soweto giants end their trophy drought.
Dolly, who reiterated that he joined Chiefs to win trophies, said it is not easy to accept that he will end his first season back in South Africa without lifting any trophy.
“I came here knowing Chiefs is a big club, in South Africa and on the African continent. I grew up supporting the club and watching the coach [Arthur Zwane] winning trophies and league titles,” Dolly told the club’s website.
“With me knowing the club’s history, I knew there was a high possibility of us winning and challenging for all trophies. We haven’t won anything this season.
“It’s always hard for me to accept that because of the calibre of players we have and the team we have. Sometimes you sit back and reflect and ask yourself, ‘am I doing enough as a player?’ But at the end of the day, it’s not a one-man show; it’s a team,” added Dolly.

The 29-year-old Bafana Bafana international has been one of the shining lights in a disappointing season for Chiefs. He has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 26 DStv Premiership matches.
“We have to focus on the future and try to give back to the club what they’ve given us as players. We really need to pull up our socks, come together as players and find ways to improve our performances, he said.
“Chiefs want to play good football; we want to play entertaining football for our supporters. Sometimes, though, it’s not like that. We need to be able to notice sometimes when a game needs grit, fight and character.”
