While appealing for time and patience for Kaizer Chiefs left-back Yagan Sasman who finished on 17 league starts in his first season with the Soweto giants, former Amakhosi defender Tlou Molekwane is asking for support for the 24-year-old.
Molekwane, who is excited about the potential addition of Bafana Bafana left-back Sifiso Hlanti to coach Gavin Hunt’s squad, says Sasman would learn from the former Bidvest Wits star to build on what he has learned in his first season with Amakhosi.
“For me, when Sasman got there (at Chiefs) he had to have someone whom he would learn from and adapt. You must remember that there’s a very big difference in coming from a small team and playing for a big team, and he had to first adapt to the team but by then the team was looking for the results. There’s no time to adapt and say you will be taking it one game at a time. They throw you in the deep end and expect you to swim and see what you can do,” said Molekwane.
“Sasman is not a bad player, he’s still young and he will grow but he should grow under a senior player like Hlanti so that he can learn. They can introduce him gradually without any pressure,” he added.
