The ‘culture’ at Kaizer Chiefs has been praised by one of their top players, who knows that it will be a test to stay on top of the Absa Premiership – and this weekend will highlight that.
Chiefs take on second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon as the two sides go head-to-head for the prize of top spot in the Absa Premiership, and Khama Billiat has spoken highly of the current mindset at Naturena under Ernst Middendorp.
The 29-year-old attacker is likely to play a big role for Chiefs if they’re to get three points at Loftus Versfeld this weekend, and he insists that they’re out for three points ‘no matter the circumstances’.
Billiat was on form for Chiefs in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup win over Masandawana earlier in the month, and he’ll be eager to keep up those kinds of performances if the club are to go all the way to Absa Premiership glory in May.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website this week, Billiat said, “We always want to win every game no matter the circumstances. That’s the culture we have in the team. When you are winning, it brings you and your fans joy. We hope we have a good run for the rest of the season.
“It’s going to demand a lot of us. We are winning games at the moment, and we want to keep that up and it means we have to do the right things every day and, in every game.”
Chiefs and Sundowns lock horns at 15h00 on Sunday, with the winner taking top spot in the Absa Premiership.
