Inside Naturena: Defender Returns As Desperate Chiefs Prepare
The media were given a sneak peak into Kaizer Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup preparations at Naturena today, with some good news on the injury front for the Amakhosi…
Take a look behind the scenes at Naturena in the gallery above!
Kaizer Chiefs go into this weekend’s final desperate for victory after missing out on a place in next year’s MTN8 – their lowest position in over a decade – and Ernst Middendorp will know the pressure that continues to build at the club following their longest ever trophy drought.
The Glamour Boys go up against TS Galaxy at Moses Mabhida on Saturday, and there was some good news for their German head coach as Mario Booysen was seen fully kitted up having suffered a minor injury that kept him out of the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chippa United on the final day of the Absa Premiership season.
It is thought that there are no fresh injury concerns for Middendorp other than the long-term injuries to the likes of Itumeleng Khune, while the club recently received the boost of having Lebogang Manyama and Erick Mathoho back in contention for the first time since last year.
Happy Mashiane was photographed in running trainers rather than boots, which could suggest that he may not be able to return this weekend, but Middendorp still has a couple of days left to finalise his squad for the big cup final in Durban.
Do you think Chiefs will win the Nedbank Cup this weekend?
