Kaizer Chiefs have missed out on another one of their targets as he, too, is closing in on a move elsewhere in the DStv Premiership.
Kgaogelo Sekgota was heavily linked with a move to Naturena after Bidvest Wits, where he was on loan from Portuguese outfit Victoria Setubal, was sold to businessman Masala Mulaudzi and renamed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
Wits had an option to buy him outright.
Subsequent to the sale, the winger returned to his parent club, but was recently left out of their roster for the 2020/21 season, suggesting he would be let go despite still having two years remaining on his contract.
Siya sources have informed the crew that Sekgota is back in Mzansi as he looks to close his European chapter – but he won’t be joining Amakhosi this season.
The Glamour Boys have a transfer ban and can only register new players from July 2021.
It’s understood Swallows FC, who seem to have a very good relationship with Chiefs, could Sekgota’s destination.
The Dube Birds currently have four players on loan from Amakhosi in Ayanda Rorwana, Sizwe Twala, Given Thibedi and Itumeleng Shopane.
According to insiders, Sekgota has also had interest elsewhere in the top flight, but Swallows are favourites to land his signature.
