Kaizer Chiefs

Players Signed, But Chiefs Still Have Problems

They may have gone into the market to bring in new players to bolster their squad, but there is an area Kaizer Chiefs need to be worried about.

Amakhosi were one of the busiest sides during the transfer window, bringing in eight new players after serving a transfer ban. The club, however, did not go into the market to bring in a striker and that's the area where they are currently struggling in, with no number nine to rely on to score regularly.

At the moment, Samir Nurkovic is head coach Stuart Baxter's only option upfront and is yet to find the back of the this season, while Leonardo Castro still in Colombia as he tries to make his way back from injury. Bernard Parker is an option upfront, but has been played in deeper roles in recent times and has not been as lethal in front of goal. .

Zambian forward Lazarous Kambole remains an Amakhosi player, but was placed on the transfer window. Youngster Keletso Sifama was sent out on loan to GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies, so there is very little in terms of options in the striking department.

While the likes of Lebogang Manyama, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly are capable of contributing with goals, Amakhosi's firepower could have an affect on the team, as seen in their 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
